20 Mar Embrace Your Inner Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman stormed the comic world in 1941 with indestructible cuffs and a lasso that reveals the truth. She’s a character that has brains, beauty, and brawn. While comic racks were once dominated with muscular super-men wearing spandex, Wonder Woman came in to unsettle the boy’s club. And rightfully so. Young girls also need a superhero of their own to look up to – someone who can defeat the evils of the universe and save the world. Since her creation, Wonder Woman has gone on to inspire millions of women from all over to fight for a better world.
Be Strong and Confident
We currently live in a world where women are letting their voices be heard. They aren’t sitting on the sidelines. They are taking to the streets, the messageboards, and the classrooms, inspiring conversation and triggering action. While being strong in mind is always important, being strong in body is just as necessary.
If you’re going to have real conversations about strength, self-love, acceptance, and girl power, it’s important to be confident in your body. For many women, that physical confidence sometimes isn’t as strong as their mental confidence. It’s important to know that women shouldn’t be embarrassed about their bodies if you want to make a change. As we know with many aspects of life – whether it’s a leaky faucet in your home or a sudden drop in your child’s grades at school – ignoring something that you don’t like is never the answer. Embrace the change and stand powerfully with it.
Talk about your goals with your friends. Extraordinary things take place when empowered women aren’t afraid to have open conversations about aspirations and goals. From there, use these discussions to kickstart your personal body revolution!
It’s Important to be Healthy in Mind and Body.
Change is something that doesn’t always happen overnight. It can take weeks, months, even years to see the complete change you might be looking for. But in order to trigger your body revolution, you need to take the first steps. You need to stand up and commit.
Group personal training is a great way for women to feel empowered and get stronger in body and mind. Witnessing other women succeed is a strong motivating force. In the end, the empowerment of one woman benefits the entire collective.
Your trainer isn’t the only one that’s looking out for you – you have a community that will support you in your fitness journey. Group personal training is all about building relationships. When you sign up for a program at Faster Fitness or at another St. Louis gym, you will be walking away from your group personal training program feeling the combined strength of your class of wonder women.
Somedays You Don’t Feel Like Being a Superhero
Even Wonder Woman gets tired from the weight of the world resting on her shoulders. Life is hard. Work, school, parenthood, social commitments, can amount to a huge boulder that can be impossible to lift. But that is even more of a reason why you need to be strong in body. Getting through your day to day life is hard, but the energy that a healthy workout provides you with will make that heavy boulder of life a little easier to pick up.
When you’re not motivated to work out, there’s really only one solution: Show up anyway, and do the work. Call it discipline. Call it being a Wonder Woman. Call it a habit. Call it whatever you want, but at the end of the day, think of it as something you just have to do. You wouldn’t head out into the cold without a coat on – it’s something you do because you know it’s necessary.
It doesn’t have to be the best workout of your life. It doesn’t have to be the day that you set a new goal or beat your best time. Some days just the struggle of getting out of bed and walking through the door is an accomplishment. Because who knows… you being there might be the extra boost that the woman next to you in training needs to push herself. You might be the support that someone else needs. You read stories online every day proving this – women inspire other women to take action. You wouldn’t want to let your fellow ladies down, would you?
It Takes Time To Become the Wonder Woman You Want to Be
We live in a truly magnificent time—a time where we can download music instantly and order items online and have it delivered to our door within days. This technological age is something to behold. However, this convenience and accessibility have changed the way we define results.
We don’t have to wait for anything anymore.
This misconception of seeing the results that we want instantly can frustrate those expecting an overnight delivery of “change”. I’ll be the first to admit that I get annoyed when a web page doesn’t load immediately or if I have to wait for Netflix to stream a movie. But it’s important to know that fitness goals don’t arrive in 2-3 business days.
However, sticking with your regiment and forming those bonds with your group personal trainer and training partners will make the time fly by. Each day isn’t about what the scale says, and becomes more about the experience and the strength you feel as a group!

Too often women fall into the trap of working out exclusively to achieve weight loss. There’s nothing wrong with that goal, but strength training with the sole priority of getting stronger can go hand in hand with fat loss. Faster Fitness focuses on improving your strength by gradually adding weight to the bar and progressing to more challenging exercises, just to name some of the many activities you will experience. It’s a process, but your trainer will be with you every step of the way.
You Are Your Own Superhero
Regardless of what the boys told you on the playground at school or what books and tv shows taught you growing up, women are not weaker than boys. Girls are led to believe this because of things like “girl exercises” or “girl pushups” or “girl gyms.” At Faster Fitness, we don’t believe in that. We’ve seen hundreds of strong women come through our door each year, and they leave looking and feeling even stronger and more empowered.
When you are strong in body and mind, you have a strong foundation. That foundation will make you ready for anything that life throws your way. You can be that someone who can defeat the evils of the universe and save the world. And there’s nothing more fulfilling than looking in the mirror and seeing the Wonder Woman you created.
